2016 OPRA Governor's Award

The Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District's River Friendly Parking Lot wins first place and is also the winner of the seventh annual Governor's Award for Parks and Recreation, presented by Ohio Parks and Recreation Association (OPRA). This project is an amazing example of the work that parks and recreation professionals do on a daily basis," said OPRA Executive Director Woody Woodward. "This parking lot serves the public well, but it is much more than just a parking lot. It was designed with cutting edge features that have dramatically improved the water quality of the Little Miami River - a state and national scenic river.  It has also provided the park district with an opportunity to educate people about the importance of this natural resource and how each of us can impact the natural world.
